Earn Luupa Points every time you pay rent. Your landlord confirms the payment, and we award points immediately — 500 pts when you pay on the due date and 1,000 pts when you pay early. You can also earn bonus points from payment streaks (1,000 at three months, 2,000 at six, 5,000 at twelve), referrals, and partner campaigns.

When you pay rent, Luupa verifies the payment with your landlord. Once confirmed, points are awarded immediately. No manual submission needed — it happens automatically.

Every rent payment is verified with your landlord or property manager before it's recognised by Luupa. That verification is what makes your rental record trustworthy — it isn't self-reported.
Each verified payment builds a rental history that shows how consistently and reliably you pay. Over time, that verified record can support better financial opportunities. Luupa is not a credit bureau and your rental record is not a credit score.

Anyone enrolled at a recognised South African university, university of technology, TVET college or private higher-education institution. You verify once with a student email (typically a .ac.za address) or proof of registration to unlock student-only rewards.

Verified students unlock a student tier with deals tenants don't get: a student welcome bonus plus discounts across fashion, food, fitness, tech, travel and nightlife — the same kinds of student deals you'd find on platforms like Varsity Vibe — and student-only campaigns during exam and registration season.

Yes. You earn Luupa Points on rent you're responsible for — whether that's a residence fee, a private digs lease or a room you rent. As long as the payment can be verified with your landlord, residence or your proof of payment, it counts.
Yes. Paying rent on time creates a verified payment record inside Luupa. Over time this builds a fairer picture of you as a payer — useful when you graduate and apply for a phone contract, car finance or your first solo lease.
Your Luupa Points and payment history stay with you. When you stop being a student you simply move from the student tier onto the standard tenant tiers (Core, Plus and Prime) — your balance and rental record carry over.
